The proposal is for a new detached residence on a plot above Sennen Cove. It has spectacular views to the West towards Longships Lighthouse and to the North and East over Sennen Beach and towards Cape Cornwall.
The design focuses around capturing the best of these views from the open plan living, dining and kitchen arrangement on the North side of the dwelling, with the semi circular form almost entirely glazed. The remainder of the living accommodation tucks around this central feature, partly on two floors, with a detached garage. The southerly private side will have direct access from the central core out onto timber decking set in varying levels around the huge stone boulders that feature in the garden slope.
The main building materials comprise natural slate, timber windows and doors and horizontal ceder boarding.
The scheme will include sustainable building features such as photovoltaic panels on the southern slope and ground source heat pumps.
