I joined Robert Allen Architects in 2005 having worked for 2 other local practices including PBWC for 8 years where I worked on multi-million-pound projects and various train stations throughout Cornwall. I have a huge passion for design whether it be for a tiny extension, new bespoke house or housing development. I get a buzz from creating a space/ house that someone and their family will make a home and be there for generations. I also enjoy the technical aspect of the design and detailing how a building goes together and like to learn new techniques. Here at RA Design we are always looking at new technologies and making our designs as energy efficient as possible while bearing in mind the cost of this. I’m also very proud to be a Chartered Member of CIAT and CABE.

Out of the practice I am a huge football fan and I coach a youth team, I am also Secretary for Helston Youth FC.
I am a member of Porthleven Coastguard Team and have been for 20 years now, this is a family tradition and something I am very proud to be involved with.

I have progressed my membership at CIAT from being a student member and have used the skills needed for this in our workplace. The majority of the work I do is based on residential extensions and new builds but I have also had the opportunity to work on some larger commercial jobs.

I joined the practice after a very successful career in the NHS. I manage all new projects that come into the office where I will have a friendly chat with the client and listen to exactly what they’re looking to achieve with each project. I gather this information and liaise directly with the design team. I also run the day to day running of the office. I will help order the relevant surveys and reports, deal with any issues that may arise.

I am a new member to the growing RA Design family and will initially concentrate on increasing our followers and provide interesting content and collaborations. Working within this industry, there is always something new to learn and I am excited to help move the company forward.
